Hi guys, I've really been struggling the past few weeks , basically my daughter is 10 months old and has a lot of hair and she's also mixed race so she has a slight Afro, because of her hair it gets full of food and dirt everyday so I have to wash it every night, she used to love having her hair done but recently screams blue murder every time I wet her hair.

I've tried laying her down in shallow water, I've tried the caps that stop the water from going in her face, I've tried using the shower head while she's in the bath and I've even tried getting in the shower and bath with her, and I've tried moving her bath time forward but every time she gets really wound up and is hard to settle even with a dummy.

I have no idea what else to do it's killing me seeing her get so wound up every night, has anyone been through the same thing or know what to do ??

Why do have to wash your babies hair every night? Why not wet her hair with a damp cloth and comb it through with a wide tooth comb.
Gently massage her head when you are cuddling her when she is not being washed to get used to the feel.
Do you play games in the bath or let her help wash a dolls hair for example. Its worth a try.

Her hair is so think that a damp cloth won't get to all of the dirt and food she's rubbed in it throughout the day, if I just rinse it with water it gets dry, so I normally do just put some conditioner in most nights I only really shampoo it once a week, I use a detangle brush on her hair, any other comb is too painful for her.

I will try the doll though, that sounds like a good idea.
