Hi

So my little boy is around 14 months and we’ve had such mixed nights since Christmas! The last 2 weeks have been worse, and I took him to the docs yesterday to get checked over and it appears it’s teething!

He seems to be cutting his first molars and from what he allows us to see! And a couple more around the front ones. I was just wondering if anyone has any top tips to get through this stage and how long it even takes to?

Hes not settling down as well as he used to, generally takes one of us to sit with him whilst he drifts off which could be anywhere from 10 mins to an hour! Then he’s awake again around 10pm when his nurofen has worn off. Usually resulting in him sleeping in bed with us just so we all manage some sleep!

I just wondering if anyone has any top tips to get through the nightmare that is teething! His first lot of teeth were ok. Just these back ones are really bothering him.

17 months and we've had the same on and off for the last few months. I'm afraid it's par for the course.

Dentinox and Ambesol work for us. DS has now learnt what Dentinox is and asks for some to go on his finger so he can spread it on his gums. Calpol or Nurofen if it's really bad. And the odd night in bed with us if he really is inconsolable. The canines have been the worst for us!

I’ve heard good things about this ambesol! Will have to get some, where is best to get it from? I don’t think I’ve come across it yet.

It’s hard to know what to do, other half has currently been trying for an hour to settle him in his cot. Determined to keep settling him in his room at least and then we just have to cope in the night the best we can!

You have to ask the pharmacist for Ambesol I believe. Boots will have it.

It's hard. My DS will be playing happily and suddenly his mouth hurts and he collapses in a sobbing pile on the floor. Lots of cuddles and some drugs should see you through!
