you kind of have to look for signs really - and the longer you leave it, the easier it is to crack
does your son know that he's had a poo? does he tell you? does he know what a potty is for?

I think at that age I'd be inclined to wait - my daughter is 2w8 months and not showing any signs at all, whereas her big sister was already trained at this age

DD is 19 months and is potty training. She is desparate to be like her big brother and do wees in the potty .

DS was what I felt was early (about 2.2) but DD seems even more keen. I am really not a pushy parent in anything, least of all potty training, but DD sass eeeee, grabs at her (training) pants and is very happy to sit and wee.

She and DS are at the childminders today (and were yesterday) and she only had a slight dribble in her pants yesterday. I am more worried about how I will manage with her tomorrow .

There's no "right" age - just when they're ready.

19 months is a bit early, unless he's showing signs of being ready.

Is he happy to sit on a potty for a reasonable length of time?

Does he seem to have an idea that he is about to wee/poo?
