Ohh, I can't believe what I've just done!

dd was refusing to take her medised (teething, snuffles, getting bitten all over by midges every time we go outside atm so not medicating for no good reason), so, not even thinking about it, I did exactly what I do when I'm giving my horse his worming medication and he throws a strop.

Stuck my little finger in the corner of her mouth, behind the teeth, and pulled her mouth open before syringing it in....

She didn't seem too bothered, but oh, I feel horrible!

(I'll be bedding her down on straw next...)

Always works on my horse too, must try that on dd.

Cruel to be kind and all that

PMSL but sounds like an excellent technique, may try that (although 'would you like some magic stop-coughing potion in your bedtime drink' is working well atm).

I did the same once! DD was faffing about and refusing to take something, so, fresh from worming my cats and without thinking I wedged her between my thighs, cranked her mouth open and syringed it in. I was horrified afterwards but she forgot about it 3 seconds later. I suppose she was lucky I at least managed to remember to give her her medicine and not worming paste.

Must try that one Lovecat - when negotiation fails it takes 2 of us to pin DS down and force meds down him
