Sleeping bag

What should my baby wear underneath a 2.5 tog sleeping bag? Also how warm should the room be?

It's the room temperature that determines what they wear. 16 degrees is considered a decent temperature for sleeping. At that temperature mine would have worn a short sleeved popper vest and a long sleeved sleepsuit

I used this guide when mine was a baby.

Our bedroom tends to be 19 degrees and DD wears a short sleeve vest plus a sleepsuit.

I think it varies a bit according to the baby. Although DD is officially wearing too much clothing for the temperature she never feels too warm.

In a 2.5 tog sleeping bag DD always wears a long sleeved vest and a sleep suit it's usually about 16 degrees in our bedrooms at this time of year. On a really cold night she has a wool sleep suit to wear instead of an ordinary one but it can drop to about 12 - 13 degrees in the house when it's freezing outside.

We have just moved her on to a 4.5 tog toddler duvet and pillow now though at 11.5 months and she is definitely sleeping better than she ever did in a bag.... we've not ever been completely convinced that she has been warm enough in a sleeping bag but every baby is different.

My son is 16 months old and is in sleeping bags still - he moves around a lot in the night.

Tonight it's 17.5-18c in his room and he has a 2.5 tog bag and a thin sleepsuit/all in one on. If it was warmer (19c-20c) I'd put him in a long sleeve vest with no bottoms and the bag. Anything above that and I switch to a thinner sleepbag - over the summer he was in a Muslin sleepbag (0.5 tog) and a long sleeved vest when it was about 23-24c in his room.
