Dribbling.. the endless dribbling.

My DS is now 13 weeks, and there's evidence that he's beginning to get teeth through. All well and good except there is so much dribble.

Is there any way to help calm the endless slobbering? He has to wear bibs literally all day and he's going through at least 3-4 as they get so soaked. When does it stop?!

My dd was the same. I just bought loads of bibs. I'm sorry to say it has only just stopped now all her teeth are through and she's 2! You get used to it 😊

Oh dear seems I've got a while to go then [santa]

I wouldn't mind but it's the fact I'm always covered in it too, wet patches on my clothes. Hmm

My DD is 1 next week, and her dribbling has always been on and off. She dribbles a lot for weeks and then nothing for weeks etc. This has been happening since she was about 2 months old!

She's only just started to cut her first tooth though.

My dd dribbled permanently until she was well past 2. Every photo I have of her she's wearing a wet soggy bib.

With both my dc they slobbered hugely from about 6 weeks until they cut their first tooth at 5-6 months. Stopped as soon as their first tooth came in, weirdly.

In the slobbering bit I just had TONS of dribble bibs which I changed probably hourly, and then had them all hanging on the radiators to dry before slinging them in the washing basket. It was so annoying!

Two hugely dribbly children here. Just stock up on nice dribble bibs and carry plenty with you. I would have to change them every half and hour during a teething spurt so could easily go through 20+ in a day. I did have the dribblieat children I’ve ever seen though.

There is a special kind of bib you can get with an inner layer which keeps the clothes dry but isn't bulky or plasticky, it's based on cloth nappies I think. And they look like little scarves rather than bibs. Have a look for one? Sorry I have no idea of the name :( And probably won't see my friend who uses them for a while.

Glad it's not just my son then.. He does appear to have an endless line of dribble hanging from his mouth, and sprays it everywhere whenever he sneezes Envy

I'm hoping it will calm down sooner rather than later as he has 2 teeth cut through and at least 3 more below the gums I can see.

I found Amazon good for bibs - got a load in bulk and changed constantly! Do feel for you, DS is a year now but I still remember the constant dribble!

Badgerthebodger · 05/01/2018 10:42

Yep another dribbler here! Loads of bibs and I have a disgusting hoodie that I wear round the house so I can take it off just before we go out and put a clean cardi on top to look vaguely presentable
