At what age do you register your baby for the dentist?

We first took ds when he was one but that was because of a bloody alarmist hv. Dentist looked at us like we were bonkers! From age 2 both have been every 3 months.

It's meant to be from when they first have teeth. We started to go at around 1 because I wanted DD to be completely comfortable and not to remember a time when there wasn't the dentist, IYSWIM. And because I read on here that dentists can spot problems with eg enamel that aren't visible to the rest of us.

Dentist thought it was absolutely the right thing to do. DD loved it esp the chair.

I just take DD whenever I have an appointment.

I've registered baby a few weeks ago, (she's 14 weeks). We have an NHS dentist and the receptionist said they may be closing applications so had to be quick. We have an appointment in February when she'll be 5 months. They said to bring her even if she has no teeth just to make sure we're registered Smile

From their first tooth Smile there can be other problems as well as just tooth decay they can detect, in reality it will probably be about 1 years old but should be from their first tooth. I would be quite surprised if the dentist thought you were mental for bringing a 1 year old
