Free flow sippy cup versus munchkin Miricle 360 cup?

Hi, my 10 month old currently drinks his water from a free flow sippy cup. He received a Munchkin Miricle 360 cup for Christmas. Would I be better to transition him into this for both milk and water? Which one is better for teeth and development does anybody know? It's confusing me because his sippy cup is freeflow but has a spout which I've heard is bad for teeth and its messy and spills. The Miricle cup is great because it doesn't spill (perfect for out and about) and teaches him to drink out of a cup. He can drink from anywhere on rim too like a normal cup which I like, there's no spout so better for teeth i'm presuming but but because it isn't free flow would that be taking a step back? I'm so confused. Please help.

Both my boys got a 360 cup for Christmas, one being 18months he got it straight away where as my 7month old not so much as they are tricky to drink from, but definitely stick with it and they will get used to it! Smile

Thanks @WhiteIn2020 did you find it took long for your younger to get used to it? I tried it with my 10 month old ds and although he managed to get the water he didn't want to continue with it. He still prefers his free flow sippy cup (I think mainly because he's a lazy boy and likes me to pour his water in his mouth as he eats.) Shock The latter isn't so effective when out and about and as quite often he likes to let the water spill out and go everywhere! I don't want to give up with the miricle cup but I'm not sure what to do to implement it.

@PasstheStarmix yeah he's still only getting used to it now, it's because they have to suck lightly to allow the water out, they are really good I know so many who use them, I would stick with offering him it and maybe try a little bit of flavoured water? As it might encourage him a bit more, my two only drink water and my oldest sometime flavoured as a treat. Grin

In the nicest possible way I think you are slightly overthinking it, it's only a cup :)

Use the one that's best for you. My nearly two year old still uses a munchkin 360, but he can drink from a glass if he wants to.

My DD has had a 360 from around 6 months old and took to it pretty much straight away.

Use them in different situations. Munchkin cup for going out, and for nighttime so it doesn't spill in bed. Free flow or open cups at mealtimes.

Don't sweat it, they all learn to drink from a beaker eventually.

Thanks, I think I'll have to persevere with it as it looks great way of transitioning to a cup. It's difficult when he's thirsty and he seems to just bite everything at the moment. He's completely chewed up his plastic sippy cup spout. I'll keep trying it as to be honest I'd like to get to the point where he has all his drinks in it. I've seen a bigger 360 version without handles and was going to get that later as well if this one works out. I think they seem much better than the straw cups you can get.

Skadespelerskorna I wish I had known about it at 6 months as he's used to his free flow sippy.

HobbyHorseGO Overthinking is the story of my life; I'm that way inclined haha. You're right.

tinymeteor Ds is a creature of habit, he gets one cup and sticks with it but I'll try and transition him to the 360 as it would make life a lot easier especially when out and about.
