Clark’s!

Hi all. My eldest child was born with clubfoot, and ever since the one item of clothing I am a stickler for us good quality shoes/ fitting/ support and durability. So we have always used Clark’s for any kind of shoes for all our children. But I find their measuring to be so off sometimes.
My youngest is 4, he has had his current shoes for about 8 months, at the time we were told that he was an 8. We tried some on and found a good fit. He has mentioned they are feeling alittle right so we have taken him back. The lady at the shop pressed and said he had lots of room and then measured his feet with a handheld gauge and measure him at a 7.5 🤦🏽‍♀️. We put my sons shoes back on and asked her to press again, I did so with her and showed her where I could feel his toes?! Much more nearer the top of the shoe. I then measured him in the gauge and he came up around 8.5?! The. She suggested we use the iPad measuring tool which came up as a 9?! In the end I have gone with 8.5 new shoes. At £40 a pop I want him to have shoes that fit. I’m not convinced they are the right size. The shop assistant was trying to sell me shoes that I could very easily put my finger down the side, saying that “it didn’t matter about the ankle fit”?? Surely that’s wrong? Where’s the support?! I have a headache, and now have some random four year old shoes for £40!

Clark’s are definitely not as good as they used to be. We’ve had random experiences with sizing etc. I would take them back and say you aren’t happy with the size. I used to live in London and when I moved to the midlands and went to a different Clark’s I got a better experience. Nothing to do with London I’m just saying they’re inconsistent.

Ever since they brought innthe iPads their measuring has been all over the place especially if your child has unusual feet (I have a Ds with extremely narrow feet & a Dd with hyper flexible feet with very high arches.

Try start Rite or an independent stockist.
