Reusable training pants?

DD (19 months) is starting to think that she is just as big and grown-up as DS and that she wants to use the potty. I'd be happy to leave it for a while, but she and the childminders are keen as well .

She's been using the potty there and tots bots etc make this quite tricky . We have some disposable pull ups floating around from when DS used them at night, but I would like to try some re-usable training pants (especially as the disposoable ones are hardly training pants).

I've seen Bright Bots ones look nice and cheerful (and not too expensive) and there are also motherease ones and then mothercare own ones as well. Any suggestions? if DD really is keen on this we moight as well go with the flow IYKWIM.......

Mothercare ones are OK, from my experience. The fabric only really catches driops, but that sensation of being wet really does speed things up a LOT!

The bright bots are meant to hold one wee - I've got some coming tomorrow (hopefully) and I'll have a look see what they look like for you

Thank you - I hope you won't be personally testing the bright bots Flame (can't actually remember who we should leave that to ).

We might pop into Mothercare and get some there tomorrow. I can't really bring myself o think that DD might be anywhere near ready for this - she's my little baby .

Lmao - no, I will just be investigating feel etc (and might try pouring water in one...)

Bright Bots are better for little leaks rather than full accidents. Motherease ones should hold a full wee most of the time. I've no experience of using the Mothercare ones, but they looked quite plasticy when I looked at them.

Motherease ones do look more substantial, but then they cost more...

I have no problem in spending money on lovely nappies and wraps but not so keen on training pants spending.

Suppose I could just buy ordinary pants. But don't eel it is quite fair to inflict that on the childminder .

What about buying a booster pad and putting that inside normal pants? Personally I don't 'do' training pants as they just seem more inclined to wee because they know they can!

Right, they arrived today (not played with water or anything) - reading the info that comes with them it looks like they are a case of they wee by accident and tell you they have done it and you can change them, but they won't last any length of time in said wee.

Pretty much a case of just giving you enough time to be able to change pants rather than whole outfit.

Flamesparrow, we used the Bright Bots for a short time with DS as he was having small dribble accidents and getting very upset and stressed about it. He could still feel he was wet (and would immediately hold the rest of the wee in) and could then be taken to the loo to do the rest of the wee, and then only need dry pants not dry tousers. I think that really helped his confidence.
