RF Car seat to fit Fiat Panda

Bluebellevergreen · 27/12/2017 09:59

I am at a loss!
I need the next stage car seat for my almost 12 months baby and I can’t find a seat that will fit our Panda and still allow a front passenger
I want to use rear facing for as long as possible

Possibly the Joie spin 360?

I can’t keep buying seats that won’t work :-(

Anyone knows?

Yes I look at the compatibility documentes but those just tells you if the car seat fits. For example we have an all stages one and it fits but for the recline that he needs it means the front seat is not usable.

So please don’t tell me to check the manual Confused I am after real experiences

Please help lovely wise people!!!!!!

I had a joie stages (not every stage) and it fit in my yaris but was very tight for the passenger. Possible, though only had occasional passengers. In the end I had to just sell the yaris and buy a bigger car.

You need to find a showroom that has them in stock and try them out in your car with a passenger in the front seat. I would have a good look at what's closest to you and be willing to drive. The one we went to was about 3 hours from home. We made a whole day of it, stopped for lunch on the way, and got to actually see how they would fit. Never buy without trying and any reputable shop will gladly help you fit and try them.

As for actual seats, I had a Ford Focus and my dh and I are tall (5'9 and 6'5) so need to have the front seat pretty far back to fit safely and comfortably. We got a Klippan Triofix Recline, which fit and left us plenty of room. We were able to keep our dd RF until 4.5. The Triofix is usually considered one of the better seats for small cars, but still I wouldn't buy without trying it out in your car first.

I've fitted a britax TWE into a Nissan Micra before. No idea if that's any help.

Can you get to the in car safety centre? They'll find you one

Agreed - you need to go to a showroom where you can try out different seats in your car to see if one fits. There used to be a great independent car seat showroom in MK.

Thank you lovelies!
Ok When you say showroom do you mean a shop?
DH has booked an appointment for mothercare this week but I worry they won’t be as good 🤔

I used mothercare for our car seat. Have a fiat panda too. With no isofix. To make life even more complicated. 😣

They looked up all the options but they also knew what would fit from experience. We ended up with a britax first class plus. However we use it forward facing now. And can't remember how much space it needs for rear.

Mothercare are awful. Really bad track record and don't tend to have many erf seats in.

In car safety in Milton Keynes is well worth a trip if you're anywhere near

Thank you!
I did look into in car safety but we are far!
I think we are going to have a look today with a tape measure and take it from there

Surely it should be simpler

Join the Facebook group car seat advice for mummies and daddies. Terrible name but a wealth of good advice re erf seats, they will help.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 27/12/2017 13:59

We had Briyac Maw-Way

And again!
We had Britax Max-Way!

I found toys / babies r us surprisingly good for car seats. The large stores have a big range of seats and the assistants were very knowledgeable. May vary between stores of course. Mothercare are hopeless
