Dribble rash

Hi

My 5 month old dd is teething at the moment and is dribbling A LOT, I have been keeping on top of this with water and then child's farm baby moisturiser every morning (this stuff has been a miracle for us and seems to help most things) but she's recently developed a rash which is slightly bumpy, dry and red... I thought initially it could be due to dribbles etc

Could I be anything else? Should I take her to gp?

Does anyone have any tips on how to clear/prevent dribble rash?

Thanks! X

A bit of Vaseline is all we ever used for it. Cleared it right up within a few days.

Pic would be helpful but if it is just dribble rash vaseline or any oil based emollient usually creates enough of a barrier to help x

Thank you for your replies few pics attached, it seems to be underneath her chin slightly as well (she is always every senesitve under there and gets a red rash every now and again but again usually clears up when I bathe and moisturise it once per day but doesn't seem to be doing at the moment)

She is totally fine in herself otherwise

We just used to make sure it was properly dry and then slather nappy rash cream all over it.

You're probably doing this but we had a mountain of cloth dribble bibs and used to pat the dribble dry with those as often as possible and keep changing for dry ones to minimise the amount of time their skin was wet.

Thank you everyone! Yep constantly drying and changing... forgot to attach pics...

I agree about vaseline. I put a thin layer of all around my child's mouth every morning - making sure the skin was dry first. I also carried a little tin of it in the change bag to top up throughout the day. I kept it up even when the rash cleared as it acted as a barrier to stop it coming back.
