How to reduce media

I have 3 DC, 7, 4 and 3. I am really struggling to reduce their screen time. They are all at very different ages and stages. The main thing they agree on is a love of the Octonauts.

I try to think of things to do with them but either the activity is too old for the younger two or too young for the eldest. Not to mention that the house still needs keeping which I also struggle with.

And taking them out is difficult because they are still not completely reliable toilet wise. The middle one has a camel bladder and so she refuses to come along when another needs the loo.I can't leave her on her own if we're out so I have to pick her up and drag her along.

I just feel really alone and completely shit about it. I don't know what I am asking. I guess just for some sympathy and ideas.

I do read lots of stories to them as well fwiw but I just want to stop the streaming.

Could you let them chose one programme on tv each? Would that help?

As for the middle one not wanting to go to the toilet, my DD does this and I tell her she goes for a wee now with us or we all go home, then she comes with us and has a wee. Why they have to argue though, I have no idea.

Yes. I think so. We don't actually have a telly so they tend to watch on the computer.

Maybe introduce structure to your day where you have a set time for watching. Then you know you can use this time for tidying etc.

Actually, that is a very good idea. Thank you.
