How to get more protein down my fussy eater?

Just need some new ideas really.
Fussy 8 yr old.
Doesn't like meat much with the exception of very specific sausages & fish fingers.

I feed him nuts as much as I can and sometimes hummous.

He will also eat eggs in the form of pancakes which I give him with spinach and cheese in.

He has full fat milk porridge or peanut butter in seedy bread toast for breakfast

He loves a cheese sandwich & milk in the form of yoghurt/ smoothies.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated Smile

It's really difficult to be protein deficient with a Western diet. There's protein in everything - even things like bread and pasta. I once read that an adult's protein requirements amount to only about a matchbox-sized piece of meat per day.

Sweet French toast? (Tastes just like pancakes)

I mix a teaspoon of vanilla essence and sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon into the egg and when cooked serve with maple syrup

Humous?
Nuts?

Ds 11 is similar with meat and anything too chewy. I found branching out from recipes he eats the best thing. So if he eats mash you can hide a lot in there and gradually make it less hidden until he'll eat fish pie or shepherds pie. If he eats pasta sauce then add blended lentils then gradually add lots of other things. You're lucky he eats nuts - I think that will really help with protein as my ds still won't

You can get chicken fingers which are like foshfingers but with chicken (obviously) maybe give them a go to help wean him into chicken?

Will he eat beans?

I do cheese, kidney bean, avocado and mushroom pancakes which always go down well in this house.

It sounds like a pretty good diet, and if he doesn't notice quinoa in his porridge can't be too fussy (I think I'd commit a violent act if someone put quinoa in my porridge!!)

I think if you worked it out, he probably gets enough protein, and if he is growing well then it shouldn't be too much of a worry. The low carb revolution has led to lots of protein enriched yoghurts, milk drinks, cereal bars etc - you could always try some of those if you are worried.

Yoghurt wise, I'd recommend Skyr. Its ridiculously high in protein, while being v v low sugar and fat. It's really popular in our house!

He certainly my won't abide chicken. To be honest I think that's probably a good thing given all the antiBs that are in most of it! Just looking for ingenious ways to sneak more protein in. I like the idea of beans in the pancakes might try it.
He's 🤢 at avocados. But wondering about doing an Avo choc dessert type of thing.... Hmm
