Space saver ideas please!

Really don't think bunk beds are going to be an option - just too young!

What do other people do in this position? Clearly moving house isn't an option or I wouldn't be asking this!!!!

Have you looked at trundle beds?

PasstheStarmix · 08/12/2017 22:37

You can get kids beds where they have another that pulls out from underneath. They save a lot of space...

lorisparkle · 08/12/2017 22:39

When ours were little we coped with two beds in the one room. Basically all that was in there was the two beds with a bedside cabinet between them. Just enough room to walk in and between the beds. As we had bought bunk beds it worked well for the youngest as the bed had sides on it. However this would only work in a double room which i am guessing you don’t have.

That's the kind of thing I was meaning.

I have to admit I find it bizarre that people have this issue. We only have children we have the space for Hmm

Where is the 1 year old at the moment? Can't they stay there? Newly 1 or almost 2?

PasstheStarmix · 08/12/2017 22:44

This is a good set up as well if you prefer separated beds.

@Kentnurse2015 Hmm do you live in a world where everything is perfectly planned and no surprises ever?

Aren’t you lucky.

OP how much space do you have? Ours were in a toddler bed and cot at that age and shared a small room.

Mummyontherun86 · 08/12/2017 22:48

Kentnurse - there’s nothing wrong with children sharing a room? It doesn’t mean they don’t have enough space, the OP is just trying to use limited space in the best way. My children share a room by choice, even though they could (and did) have separate rooms.

Anyway... ours were in a cot and cot at that age which helped. Then an ikea bunk bed with a floor bottom bunk and low ‘high’ bunk.

teaortequila23 · 08/12/2017 23:02

I wouldn’t get normal bunk beds but there are one in ikea that is basically a single mattress with a gap and bed but it’s not too high for the 3year old to get down. You could also add cabinets to the side for steps and storage all in one. Also if the one year old falls out of bed they are only falling the height of the mattress and no more so it’s not unsafe. Pinterest it!

It’s called the KURA BED if you put the in Pinterest lots of ideas come up

rudolphtherat · 08/12/2017 23:29

How much space do you have - a right angle bed might work?

tvhearts · 09/12/2017 14:14

Hi loving the right angle bed idea might look into that, as for the irritating comment ha ha we live in a 2 bedroom house and have a cotbed, single bed, chest of drawers with shelving above in their room but I want to get a wardrobe as they need one! I'm looking at my options that's all. 🙄

Hi I've looked at the Kura, but seems it needs quite a lot of modifying to turn into bunk beds x

Where did you find the right angle beds? X

Place marking🤔

For the time being with have two toddler beds against a very pretty mural wall. Only 1.5ft between the beds.

And opposite is a two door but rather tall ikea pax wardrobe which provides a rail each, and two wide draws each.

We have worked with what little space we have and it looks wonderful.

Maybe you could consider a sliding door to make more room?
