baby gags all day long!!

basically that. my daughter gags all day long, she will be 7 months on the 28th but developmentally she is younger as she was born 10 weeks early. she has reflux but I'm pretty sure the gagging is unrelated, as she can be sleeping all night and wake the next morning with no milk in her tummy but is still gagging! obviously during the day when she has ate she can bring bits up when gagging, which is annoying to have her losing food as it's hard enough to get her to take milk as it is!

it's the movement of her tongue that makes her gag I think, she's always at her bottom gums with her tongue and that sets her off! so what I'm really asking is could this all be down to teething! she has very red cheeks at the moment and loads of drool.

its driving me crazy, I have to watch her like a hawk more than I already do to make sure she's not having herself into a vomit!

Poor baby, have you taken her to see the gp or health visitor about it?

I haven't, but I'm seeing health visitor to have her weighed next week so I'll mention it! I don't know if she persists on doing it because we all make a big deal when she does!

I'm not sure if at 7 months they can react to attention that way yet. I could be wrong.
Is she stopping breathing or getting really upset at all?
Definitely mention it but if in any doubt at all about her breathing then call for an ambulance, it's better safe than sorry. X

If she has reflux and she is teething it could be that extra saliva is aggravating the reflux. My little one is over a year old now, but has always had severe reflux and it's significantly worse when she is teething. Infant gaviscon helps on top of her usual medication for reflux. Speaking to your GP is probably the most helpful thing to do.

she doesn't stop breathing when she does it, she laughs when she's told to stop! can be halfway through a gag and then it changes to a yawn also, it's so strange!

she is already on reflux medication, carobel for thickening her milk and ranitidine for the acid.
