J20BABY · 19/04/2007 20:24

doesn't anyone want to give us a hand??

There is too much info for anyone to be bothered explaining on here

Have a look at the nappylady website - she explains all the different types and gives pros and cons of each nappy, and there is also a classifieds board for some 2nd hand nappy bargains.

does that help?

Washersaurus · 19/04/2007 20:38

www.thenappylady.co.uk (my links never work)

J20BABY · 19/04/2007 20:49

ok will try that thanks

just wondered really what them wrap things are, are they instead of them towel things you fold up to make nappies? and then do you just use liners and plastic pants that go over the top?

can i go to college to do a degree in nappies?

Not many people use terry nappy squares that I know...NONE use plastic pants....

The wraps are waterproof and are usually made of breathable fabric, poppered or velcro fastening, and are worn as part of a 2 part nappy system over a flat or shaped nappy

Nappi nippas have replaced nappy pins -they are much more baby friendly and easier to use

J20BABY · 19/04/2007 21:00

well i'm not with the times am i, used disposables with dd(7)

thanks

Just on quick before dinner...

Some are better than others, but often it is down to what you want from them (fast drying, cost, absorbancy, slimness) and the shape of your child.

A wrap is what goes over the top of the absorbant bit of the nappy to keep the clothes dry (used to be "plastic pants" but sooooo much nicer!!)

Very few use pins - use nappy nippas instead - they sort of hook into the fabric and hold it all together with tension.

If you want to email me bumfluffnappies at gmail dot com, or go through the advice bit on www.bumfluffnappies.com I can help more in depth (or fire questions here and I'll be back tomorrow!)

Squonk - each reusable costs on average about the same as a pack of disps (give or take a pound or two dependent on type). You can easily get away with 12 nappies at that age... will you be buying more than 12 packs of disps?

J20BABY · 19/04/2007 21:16

thank you flame, been waiting for you all day
