9 month old vomited rice pud??

Hi, my 9 month old has always been a great eater. I make all of his baby food homemade and he eats a varied diet. There's really
nothing DS doesn't like, he even eats spinach and broccoli He's also very good with different textures. I decided to make little man homemade sugar free rice pudding made with full fat cows milk. I blended this so the rice was alittle finer and texture wise it was no different to his other food. I then mixed in some of his usual fruit. He seemed okay at first but after 4 spoons he didn't want any more and didn't seem to like it he then vomited everywhere. I know little man is fine with diary as he has cheese and yoghurt no problem and also he has cows milk added to some of his food and he's fine with it. I also don't think ds is unwell as he's been full of smiles all day and wasn't phased by the vomiting.
What does everyone think?

He loved the ready break as well but he spat up all day after it...

I was going to suggest Ready Brek.

Also try not to over think and stress too much about things like this. At a similar age perhaps older DC had bananas & custard and vommed over the whole high chair. Yuk. We just said ok no bananas and custard again. Neither have been fond of bananas ever even as older children.

Ready Brek is a lot smoother, so might be a good option, I don't recall it having sweeteners.

I do recall with PFB you want to do the texture thing, you want to get everything spot on. The only downside is it's a lot of over thinking and worrying. My family used to joke, have you called in the Monastery to get PFB veggies. They were def virgin Nuns weren't they. So we all do it.

Thanks InLoveWithLizML haha oh yeah I'm definitely a worrier. Unfortunately it was the porridge texture that was problem for ds as he's pretty good with most and he enjoyed ready break and normal porridge but the oats didn't agree with him. He has a reaction so I'm thinking his constitution isn't ready for them and won't try again until after 1...Smile

Snort!

Snap8TheCat · 30/11/2017 18:05

Because lots of people told you you were overreacting?

Hmmalittlefishy · 30/11/2017 18:05

Before you go....... Try not to over think things. Children throw up randomly quite often or will be running around then suddenly poorly and then perk up again quickly. I know my dc have certainly been eating full meals the day after a stomach bug when Im still struggling to look at food
Could it be teeth? My ds used to get sick when some of his teeth came through.
It really could be anything though so just carry on as you were and don't worry

FartnissEverbeans · 30/11/2017 18:08

Sometimes babies puke just to fuck with us I think.

DS puked non-stop for the first nine months of his life. Now he's a toddler and he spewed all over me earlier this evening.

IHaveBrilloHair · 30/11/2017 18:09

I'd be careful worrying so much about one puke incident and not giving the food again, it happens, or he may not want a particular thing the first time.
If you get all worried about giving him it again you'll end up limiting his diet for no reason.
(Also, please stop with the little man thing)

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 30/11/2017 18:12

Maybe he just didn't like it.

I wouldn't eat unsweetened puréed rice pudding, and if he's a baby who enjoys flavours and textures he may feel the same way!

goose1964 · 30/11/2017 18:12

My grandson occasionally vomits up his food it's a blend of reflux, which is improving, and eyes bigger than his stomach.

Bella8 · 30/11/2017 18:14

Snap8TheCat no I left because I got a range of opinions and it's helped me thank you.

Hmmalittlefishy Thanks I don't think so because he has 6 teeth and has many more on the way for a long time. I was just curious as to if anybody else had problems with the same kinds of food/intolerances.Smile

It's not an intolerance!

Snap8TheCat · 30/11/2017 18:57

Poor child.

Hmmalittlefishy · 30/11/2017 18:58

Its not an intolerance or an allergy - calm down! If you think that every time he's sick you'll end up giving him severe food issues
brillohair I'm glad you mentioned that it was grating on me too!

Breeze241 · 30/11/2017 19:23

My DD or 'little madam' had a similar thing with pasta stars, everytime she ate it she would throw up. After the first time I spoke to my HV who said it was most likely a taste thing but considering my DD had reflux she said that could play a factor. Ultimately it was a taste thing but it's worrying when your child throws up; natural reaction in my opinion.

Breeze241 · 30/11/2017 20:00

And as for intolerances etc only OP knows her own child. At the end of the day it's natural to worry as a parent when your child throws up.
