Nappy changes......how often??

Sorry this is another nursery related rant....

Nursery staff told me that DS was so wet when they changed him earlier that instead of putting a fresh motherease onesize nappy on him they put him into a disposable nappy (which they took off before I arrived).

I was slightly peeved they had put him in the disposable but didn't say anything.....when I looked at his report sheet for the day it turns out he was soaking wet because he hadn't been changed for over 4 hours.

This is a regular occurance (he only goes to nursery 1.5 days per week) but I think 4 hrs is too long for a child to be in a nappy, should I say something or am I just being silly??? [hmm}

hi, i deffinatly think you should say something! i used to be a nursery nurse and its usual to change every 2-3 hrs (we used to have a rota to make sure), but its easy to let it slip on a busy day. a gental reminder might be needed. dont forget you are paying them to look after your child.

very odd alright, dd's playscool didn't go by rota, they just did what i would do and checked her every half hour or so.

she's potty trained now and while she was learning they were fab for bringing her every half hour too

DS is every 4 hours... if he's lucky

Bamboo lasts much longer than a MEOS

redbeki · 30/04/2007 20:54

Yeah,I agree,4 hours is way too long for cloths.every three hours max ,2 1/2 usually.they need to sort this out.
