Do I bother the GP with this?

I've been debating all day whether to take DD (16 mos) to the docs with this, so any any advice would be appreciated.

  • she's been poorly with a GP diagnosed virus, red ears, very loose white poos, no appetite, lots of weight loss for the past 10 days or so.
  • temp back to normal but her limbs are very blue and cold. Her appetite has returned but her poos are all over the place.
  • diagnosed with a viral induced wheeze / asthma on brown and blue inhalers over a year ago.

My main concern is the poor circulation and weight loss - she is / was a very rounded baby (99th percentile) but her arms and legs have slimmed right down and are blue and very mottled. Temp is fine.

Is the poor circulation something to expect from such a persistent virus? Not sure whether to take back again for the third time in a week. Blush

I'd call 111 as circulation issues are worrying

I agree, call 111 and get her seen.

Please do contact the surgery if you're concerned. I'm not a medical professional at all, but doctor had asked a parent to contact the surgery and update them on how a child was getting on. Parent duly called back, reported to reception that child seemed fine - totally back to normal etc. This was fed straight back to the GP, who seemed happy with that. Said they were concerned as had noted during the consultation the previous day that the child's skin had such a mottled appearance.
Never worry about contacting the surgery about a poorly child. They can go downhill so quickly and should always be squeezed in.

Thanks for the advice - she's being seen today.
