How old when your child started nursery?

I'm having a minor wobble about sending DD to nursery. She's 7 months old. She's done a few half days as we build up to me going back to work 3 days a week in January. Tomorrow she's doing a full day for the first time and I'm feeling a bit anxious/guilty about how she will do being there for a full day. Even the logistics of the timing in the morning is stressing me out a bit. E.g. fitting in her morning bottle and then a bit of solid food for breakfast and her first nap of the day (usually 90 mins after waking). Our mornings are usually very leisurely!

How old were your children when they went to nursery for a full day? I think hearing that other people send their babies to nursery at this age would make me feel better.

Ds, my pfb, went 3 days a week from 7 months. He's 2.5 now and calls it "home" (as well as out actual home, of course), so he couldn't be more comfortable there :)

My son went full time at six months until he started primary. He is 23 years old now and is quite normalSmile

My first went at 8mths and she settled 3days a week. It’s not easy to start with a new routine but you manage. Get everything ready the night before and allow an extra half hr.Smile for my second I chose a Childminder much easier, as we built a better 1:1 relationship.

11 months.

What time does she normally get up in the morning? Nursery will give her breaskfast food and then they can put her down for her nap.

Mine started at 9 months, but only half days. She went to 3 full days a week at 11 months. Your lo will be fine. It's just a transition for all of you and you will get used to it. You can get her and yourself up and fed, but I wouldn't stress about the nap. They'll get her to nap there if it's time. Also, they often have snack pretty early at nursery, so even if she doesn't eat loads, she'll be eating again soon. I know at my dd's nursery snack time was at 9:30, so she pretty much ate a second breakfast right after she arrived. If she naps and sleeps through it all, they'll top her up after. They're good at working out what each baby needs so they'll figure it out pretty quickly.

Full time from six months.

It was really hard at first (for me!) but actually I'm glad he started early. He was still quite happy around strangers at that age and now that he's getting to a shy/funny age (14mo) he already knows the nursery nurses and goes in with a big smile every morning.

He loves nursery and does much more interesting things there than he'd be doing at home with me. We had the option to get a nanny and I decided to stick with nursery because it's gone so well so far. I feel like it was a good decision.

Full time from 8 months. She was fine with it, and is a very well-adjusted 6 year old now. She loved nursery and loves school even more!

2 days a week from 9 months old. I felt awful leaving him but the nursery are very good and try to follow your normal routine. He is now coming up for three and loves it.
