Hey Summerfruit and Twig that is my niece's birthday too! Easy for me to remember as my BIL has a tattoo with the date - I think he got it so he wouldn't forget She was born about 11.30pm.

In answer to OP, three years 2 months between me and my sister and we got on brilliantly as kids. I remember waking up in the morning and the first thing I wanted to do was go and see her. I liked 'mothering' her.

DH took this pic when I handed dd2 to dd1, five hours after dd2 was born

I always think it sums up their relationship - dd1 was just utterly overjoyed - I have never seen her so happy

morningpaper · 18/04/2007 11:45

I've added two more for you

honestly it's a GREAT gap

ekra · 18/04/2007 11:47

MP - What a gorgeous photo. Your DD1 has a beautiful smile.

My DD1 looked a little more indifferent in the first photos of her holding DD2 but she came round quickly

Oh yes it was just LOVELY

She was SO excited about having a new baby - we always called it "her" new baby ;)

I gave birth in hospital but because it was my second they didn't really pay my much attention so I got to leave very quickly

We've got all boys here - but it is perfect having all the same sex and I truly cannot understand why so many people seem to think you need 'one of each'. DS3 is little still, but fascinated by this brothers. DS1 and DS2 adore each other and play from the moment they wake until they go to bed (with the odd scrap, obviously).

Congratulations, enjoy.

I am not planning on having any more but not ruling it out either ... My BODY feels awful after the second baby, I feel about 70! If it wasn't for that I would want more but I'm not sure if I am strong enough to carry another - I just don't know!

morningpaper · 18/04/2007 12:54

DD1 has just got home from playgroup and dd2 was positively SQUEALING with excitement (she is now 1.5) - RUSHING to meet her at the door with huge hugs - it is so lovely, you are going to love it!

hmmmmmm

WendyWeber · 18/04/2007 14:29

My 2 DDs are exactly 3 years apart (well, OK, 3 years and 4 days) and they are amongst each other's best friends (iyswim) - 25 & 22 now

Lucycat · 18/04/2007 14:32

I have 3 years between my 2 (short of 10 days) and they are best friends, mainly due to the temperamnet of dd1 I feel, but it is the perfect age gap imo - only one in nappies, one lot of broken sleep.

Many congratulations Summerfruit - I love my girls
