Going to a nearly new sale... what to look out for for a 3-6 month old

Our LO is 14 weeks... Would love some advice on what you have found at nearly new sales that was particularly helpful for the 3-6 month age period or turned out to be particularly good value for money. We only have a small house so don't want to get anything we won't use regularly! I've no idea what to expect re pricing but I can probably afford to spend up to £60 in all.

Thanks so much for any advice! x

Baby gym (like an arch over a mat that has toys attached).

Stacking cups.

Anything that shakes and rattles or makes a noise.
Little mirror
Those plastic interlink rings.
Teething toys!
Soft books.

Thank you both! Hadn't considered teething stuff at all x

Buy any decent quality books you see, even if they're still a bit too old for your baby.

Any nice clothes in the next few sizes - especially good brands like Next.

Building blocks and other toys - everything will get used eventually.

Bumble chairs are good when you're starting to wean. Baby recipe books like Annabel Karmel maybe?

In my experience that’s the age at which they start grabbing things, until DD was 4mo you had to really coax her to hold anything, then like a light switch being turned on she suddenly wanted to hold everything.

With that in mind, books with textured pages (the That’s Not My.. books are great), shakers, things that jingle and crinkle and various sensory style toys would be perfect.

Jumperoo

Yep jumperoo. Don't get a bumbo if you have limited funds cause loads of babies hate them. You need a high chair. Books can be bought in Poundland or borrowed from library so only spend decent money on 'that's not my' books. What you really need at your stage are things like teething rings which you can't really buy second hand. If you see an activity centre get one.

Nests and bouncers and walkers are all fine but the most important thing is baby spends lots of time on the floor learning to roll over and crawl so any little rattles and things that encourage floor time are the gold standard of baby toys. The people who sell these things would have you believe otherwise.

Thanks so much all! We got some good bargains on clothes and floor toys :-)
