Hi guys!
Just a couple things to ask for some advice on...
When did you move your little on into a cot in their own room? I know guidelines say six months but just wondering what people actually do!
Also what she did you move onto a medium flow teat on a bottle?
Thank you xx

My 8 month old is still in with me and will be until he stops walking at night. Balls to having to leave the bedroom to sort him out. DD was put in her own room at 8.5 months but then came into bed with me later in the night.

4m, cot in my room
8m - move into own room

I didn’t use bottles past a few weeks. He wasn’t keen.

DS1 was in own room at about 7 months. DS2 I co sleep with, he's 17 months now. No experience of bottles/teats sorry.

7 months. On all 3. At 6 months I always know it's time but they are still waking so much at night it takes all my energy to make the decision to actually move them.

I can tell you that all 3 times, within 2-3 days, they went from waking 6-8 times a night with me to 0-2 times max in their own room. 3 very different babies, all improved sleeping massively by suddenly not being disturbed by DH and I.

AJPTaylor · 15/11/2017 16:09

Dd1 6 months
Dd2 2 days
Dd3 7 months and i cried!

1st baby - 3/4 months but in room right next door with both doors open. 2nd baby is 7 weeks and will probably be in with us longer than that.

For the teats I think it depends on the brand.

Mumsiemummy1 · 15/11/2017 16:10

We moved DD at 7 months. She has always been on number 2 teats due to having comfort milk that's thicker.

HolyShet · 15/11/2017 16:12

DS1 - cot went into own room @1 year old. He woke up every night @midnight and came in with us till morning. The other two never even slept in the cot.....co-slept till they were 2 and a bit. Sometimes there were 5 people asleep in our bed.....

Teats - didn't have bottles till they were 6 months - but when they were draining the bottle in 3 secs flat I suppose.

Pennywhistle · 15/11/2017 16:14

We moved our twins into their own room at 7 months.

We didn’t use bottles.

NerrSnerr · 15/11/2017 16:18

We moved both ours in at 6 Months (although our youngest is 7 months and often ends up with us as he doesn’t do the whole sleeping thing).

We didn’t use bottles.

3 month old cot in our room DS in cot in our room still and to be fair I will prob keep him there till March next year when he will be approaching one year old only because I don’t feel comfortable yet having him in his own room and with the waking up still I don’t fancy walking back and for between the rooms easier to be in with us for time being.

The teats I normally changed them in time frame the recommended so DS is on the last lot now teats 3 which is 6months+ if your baby is showing they are ready to move up to next size teat then do so or you can look to see if you can buy vari flow teat depending on type of bottles you got as they baby can control the flow then of milk

Halfdrankbrew · 15/11/2017 16:28

Dd was 7 months when she moved into her own room.
DS is 4 months and is just growing out the Moses basket, we plan to put him in a cot in our room until he's sleeping better. He's still waking 3/4 times to feed, his sister was sleeping through at 3 months.

Teats our dd had expressed milk out of a bottle if I left her and only ever had slow flow teats. I didn't realise there were different types for ages, but still stuck to slow flow due to breastfeeding. I convinced myself it'd mess up breastfeeding if she had the faster flow teats, probably completely wrong and I've made it up. Ds won't have a bottle at all!!!
