toddler diarrhoea

Ds nearly 17 months has started with very runny, watery poos since the weekend. I changed his juice to apple juice, which I've read could be a cause of toddler diarrhoea.

He is fine in himself, runs around, play and eat! However, for about the 4th time in his life he has nappy rash (I think), he has one open sore (raw) and a few which looks like little pimples.

Please I need some advice to help him, he is complaining a bit when I change him and I think I will let him run around naked this afternoon, but in the meantime I've first tried an antiseptic on the sore and today an antibac ointment. Is there anything else I can do?

I would be very grateful if anyone could share experience on this.

Thanks

I find that Metanium is the best cream - you have to dab it on very thinly (it doesn't spread easily). Other than changing him as soon as he does his poo, and as you say, keeping the nappy off if possible, I don't know what else you can do. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I've used metanium and sudocrem, it takes care of the redness, but he is left with this sore and pimply things?

Hi, not sure if this helps but both my ds and dd had watery and acidic poos when they were teething, wont stop the rash but helps to understand why. I agree with the Metanium but did find too much can be a bit harsh so I just used it for a few days then went back to Sudacrem.
