Should I be concerned?

16 month old dd not yet walking independently (cruising around furniture for a few months) and only saying two recognisable words which are Hi and Yh. She has 2 older siblings that we’re both walking at 12 months and could talk reasonably well by this age. I’ve been putting off contacting the hv but I’m starting to worry that there might be something wrong and I should get dd checked out :/
Can anyone put my mind at ease?

I would go and get some advice just to be sure but my close friend's DD didn't start walking till 2 and only has limited words at 2.5. She's walking well now but was booked in for physio prior to starting and the HV is aware of her speech, can't remember now what they are waiting for.

Not sure what normal age ranges for these things are, but IIRC my older 2 DC didn’t take their first independent steps till around 16 months, and there were no concerns raised about this at their nursery.

I’m finding it a bit harder to remember when they started talking. I can remember counting the words they knew when they were nearing 2 yrs old (I’d read an article that said a 2 yr old should know at least 50 words), but I can’t remember what their speech was like at 16 months. Other than the rate at which they said new words started slow and then got faster and faster.

It's about in line with my eldest DS. He is still fairly taciturn at 11. His younger brother however has talked the hind leg off a donkey virtually since birth
