I love them as they are so easy to put on and dry quite fast...but that means easy for toddler fingers to get off as well..so I have to make sure she has shorts or a vest on in warm weather!
I have found as well that they are not as absobent as my fluffles and I have to change them every 2 hours instead of 3 or 4.

kittypants · 15/04/2007 14:27

oh,can you think of any others that would be easy for fidgety toddler?was more than happy with terries until now!

Don't get me wrong, they are very easy to use with a rolling, bucking baby but if I let her sit with just a nappy on it comes off very quickly!
I just bought some knickers and put them over it and it stops her!

And I know that fluffles are really absorbent so I might just be spoiled!
I love them as they are quite slimfitting as well which helps.

do you use wrap with fluffles?

OP posts:
chirpygirl · 15/04/2007 14:33

Yes I use motherease poppers, she hasn't figured them out yet!

She went through a stage of fidgeting but I started sitting on her (hmm better rephrase that...)
Basically I would sit side onto her and put one leg (gently!) over her chest so she couldn't roll and then change her, I only had to do it for about a week before she got the hint....

I wouldn't buy Bumgenius. We have them and they are wonderful to wasn/dry/use BUT my 7 month DD will take them off and wave them at me and has done so since she was around 5 months old !!!

As we EC and nappies are backup only, we have stuck to using these nappies under vests for night time but if we were going to buy any more I would go for Wonderoos or another popper pocket nappy.

HTH

kittypants · 15/04/2007 21:06

i'll have a look at wonderoos thankyou

We are still learning but not having to deal with pooey nappies is bliss

kittypants · 15/04/2007 21:09

how old is your lo?

The velcro on Bumgenius is not great - after a few washes it doesn't secure very well and can come undone quite easily.

Best nappy imo is Wambamboo - slim, absorbent, well-fitting, and if you go for aplix, they're a cinch to get on a wriggler!

kittypants · 15/04/2007 21:11

thanks will take a look

My DD is 7 months old

kittypants · 15/04/2007 21:14

what wrap do you use with them?i was looking more for a AIO

OP posts:
BonyM · 15/04/2007 21:22

We use a Motherease Rikki wrap during the day and Woollypants wool wrap at night.

No experience of AIO, but from what I've heard, they're not the most reliable type.

If you like a pocket nappy (such as Bumgenius), Happy Heinys are great - not as absorbent as Wambamboo though.

kittypants · 15/04/2007 21:24

thanks,will get googling again!!

Swaddlebees are a good AIO - fasten with side poppers, not great for heavy wetters (though the pocket you can use 2 boosters which helps).

thanks flame

Hi Kittypants, I have heard the popolini easyfix is a really good all in one.
It has leg gussets, so the containment of poo is better than many all in ones.
You don't mention your laundry facilities, but you will find there is a significant difference in drying time between a terry square and an all in one, which may mean you need to buy quite a few or wash quite frequently.
I had the wriggly problem with my ds, and it wasn't funny!! Grr!
For a while it was standing up changes or nappy on the thigh, sit the baby on top type of thing.
I found side-fastening nappies were quite good for standing changes - Sandy's or Swaddlebees are both side-fastening. Sandy's can be pulled up like pants then tightened, but they take a while to dry.
There is a photo of my ds in his sandy's on my nappy blog
Mind you, if you can get a terry square to stay on you are probably a dab hand with the nappi nippa. I had some real terry disasters.

nappyzone · 17/04/2007 22:36

I agree with bony m wambamboo are a cinch but as a pocket lover i woudl have to take a Happy Heiny anyday and tye can be quite abosrbant if you pack em with something decent. Nappyzone (i know i know i shouldnt) have them on openign offer if you want to try them cheaply.

nappyzone · 17/04/2007 22:40

Flame - do you have to use a wonderoo insert with wonderoos or will any fit - i have some coming tomorow but have Green acre inserts? Wnat to try em on my boy before i plug them.....

Flamesparrow · 18/04/2007 07:44

You can use most inserts with wonderoo, they are nice and roomy. Swaddlebees are a nightmare because they are so slim you have to use the official ones.

Obv wonderoo ones are the "perfect" fit, but seeing as I find them a bit loose in there anyway, I guess its down to preference

nappyzone · 18/04/2007 10:12

thanks - Flame are you like - im like a kid in a candy shop when i get a delivery! im sure the novelty will lessen but im having so much fun lol!!!

nappy addict!!!!!!!!

kittypants · 18/04/2007 10:17
