Argghh darn nursery lost another nappy!

I am really fed up, nursery have gone and lost another one of DS' motherease onesize nappies - despite me carefully sewing name labels to them in case they got mixed up with someone elses!

This isn't the first time this has happened - DS has actually come home in the wrong wrap before now (a cheapy one at that!). Do they not understand how much these nappies cost - I can't afford to keep replacing them.

Saying that...if anyone has some motherease onesize with pop in boosters going spare please let me know.

We only use these for nursery (1.5 days/wk) as they couldn't cope with the tots bots I usually use (they really are useless with these nappies), so I don't mind what condition they are in.

i'd be furious. how hard is it to keep hold of them? surely they change it and put the soied one in your bag.
I would be demanding the cost of a replacement. it's not on

Washersaurus · 12/04/2007 22:41

I am bloomin' fuming, but even more angry with the person who is keeping all DS' stuff! I always return anything to the nursery that I get in the change bag that isn't ours.

So far in the last few months we have lost cups, nappies, wraps. I feel like a right freak putting name labels in everything but even that hasn't helped

i would have a word with the manager - we think our nursery had someone who didn't like doing real nappies & just binned them! after a few phone calls - i checked as soon as we got home & phoned the manager immediately if any were missing - it stopped, although we never got them back. i'd list your missing property and ask for a refund. after 3 nappies going missing & me complaining, we NEVER had anything go missing again.

I would ask them to send a letter out to all the parents asking them to return any items they may have taken home in error.

And yes, as kickassangel says, list everything they have "lost" and ask for a full refund.
It just isn't on for them to be losing your belongings and not replacing them.

OMG that is terrible - I would think the same thing was happening here but I get the dirty ones back, it is the clean unused ones that disappear. I know they hate doing the real nappies because they admitted to putting DS in disposables which I told them I wasn't happy about.

I usually phone when some missing but forgot last week thinking it would have been put in his basket (as happened the week before) - actually even that annoys me, how many nappies do they think I own to be able to leave some at nursery for the following week? Grrrrrrr

She just keeps telling me it happens when she goes on holiday and someone else covers for her - I will keep on about it and see what happens, but I doubt I will get anything back as they have never bothered to ask around for me before.

washersaurus, I would say to them, right, I will be giving you 4 nappies per day. I want 4 nappies back again each time I collect him. even if they aren';t all used,.
and check the bag while you're still there and kick up a stink if they aren't

I am totally appalled by this. it's theft

Washersaurus · 12/04/2007 23:16

I do ALWAYS put the same number of nappies in the bag just for my own sanity, but feel really bad about having to check I have everything before we leave.

I know how crap they are about returning items to their owners as I have a pair of socks in my change bag that I keep returning to nursery and have told them they are not ours but 2 months on they are still there - maybe I will start an amnesty!

To this day I don't know how they sent DS home in the wrong nappy wrap - when I mentioned it they told me it was impossible as noone else in his group wore washables (which I know is untrue) and that was the end of the matter!

Washersaurus, last week, some bright spark in our creche put all ds's dirty nappies in the rubbish bin. The girl who usually minds ds had to go out and rifle through the rubbish to find them. I always tell them "Those nappies cost 15 Euro to replace!" in a tone that suggests that I expect them to pay for replacements!
But I always put in 4 nappies and count 4 every evening, clean or dirty.

nearlythere · 13/04/2007 10:17

god kick up a stink!!! i would- at the end of the day the nappies are expensive, if you have to keep replacing them then it is theft! if they are returned a few days later it can be put down as a mistake but if they don't ever come back then you've been robbed!!

threaten to take the ammount that they've lost in nappies off the next bill and see what they say!

i'm lucky as i use a cm but i daresay that some of mine are lurking in unusual places around her house but i know that as soon as ds no longer needs them they will all eventually find their way home!!

Washersaurus · 13/04/2007 19:25

I think I will wait until nursery day next week and see if it has turned up - if it hasn't I will definitely be mentioning it as I will have to buy a replacement; I don't have very many Motherease onesize BECAUSE they are sooo expensive!
