What is the going rate for a tooth?

DD lost a tooth today and announced that she wanted to go and sleep at Granny's house because when her friend lost a tooth at her Granny's house she got £5 for it.
Am I a skin flint or is that a bit steep for a tooth? Think I only ever got 20p for mine......but then I am very old.....

£5! Sod Off!

£1, maybe.

£.50p

i'd tell her to take it to grannies but tell her the rule is she must hand over a third of her earnings.

start early.

mine get £1 per tooth from the fairy.

dd1 had to have 3 teeth removed the other week by the dentist, so she got £3 plus a £2 bravery bonus from granddad.

Hmm, thought so. Am actually a bit at friend's granny for setting such a precedent.
Mind you I did get a guilt trip when dd also added to her announcement that her reason for wanting the extra money was that she was going to put it in her WSPA collection box - because it was more important that the animals have a better life than her being able to get something she didn't really need with the money.
So do I feel bad about abandoning the animals, but save my purse, or supply the fiver and financially ruin the Fairy...?
