1m old being really sick

Our 1m old dd hasn't been a sicky baby, however the last few days has been really bad.

She weighed 9lbs 13 on Tuesday and as her weight has plateaued and she was drinking all 4oz every bottle, the health visitor recommended upping her feed to 5oz.

We have bought new bottles (avent bottles as the tommee tippee ones were pouring out and she was choking) these has slowed her down on feeding but she has soon learnt how to get the milk out quickly so we have to keep taking the bottle out during feeds.

The last two days she has been really really sick, we keep her sat up and wind her throughout and use infacol - she's now bringing up the milk during the feed and continuing to be sick on and off for a couple of hours after, last night I could tell her belly was really hurting her and it took a long time to get her off to sleep.

I'm at a loss of what to do as she was never really sick much in the first few weeks- any advice would be great.

5oz seems a large amount in one go for such a small baby. Are you feeding on demand? I'd go back to 4oz and feed more frequently if she asks.

Thanks for the reply- I have thought about doing this but she just wants more - when I give 4oz she looks for more and when I break up the feeds so they are smaller and more regular she just wants more, it's sooo hard knowing what to do, I totally agree that 5 is loads for such a small belly- the midwife tried to get us to put her on 5 when she was 2 weeks old as she wasn't at her birth weight and they desperately wanted to sign her off- I ignored the suggestion!

Does she have a dummy for comfort sucking?

Yes we had to give her one as she wouldn't settle without.
