I'm curious, how hot do you think her night nappies are?

DD is a very hot baby, always has been, but lately when I have picked her up in the morning she has been boiling. She has been sleeping in cotton PJ's, no vest, supposedly under a quilt but it never stays on.
She is in Fluffles overnight with 2 boosters as they are the most absorbent that I own (and the softest) but I worry that as it is microfibre and not cotton she might have a hot bot.

Reassure me that this is not the case!

If she is hot all over I doubt it would be a hot bottom that would be causing it as there is plenty of area of skin that's not tightly covered for the heat to disperse.

Hi

If she were mine and a hot baby I would buy bamboo nappies when you need the next size up as they are brilliantly absorbent at night , a natural fibre and very breathable. I think it would help a hot baby a little to be in a natural fibre. I would also think about using a wool wrap as its also breathable and so cooler. But that might be a step too far for you!

Ive just moved to wool and bamboo at night from using other nappies and find them much better and more comfortable for the baby..

I did use fleece when she was weeny so moving to wool shouldn't be too hard, how do you wash them though? Can they go in the machine with the rest?
Might invest in a couple purely for nights as I can strip her down and give her water in the day, I just need something absorbent at night as she has 2 boosters in her fluffle and still soaks it! Would a bamboo hold that?

Hi

Im no expert on wool but I think some can be machine washed (on a wool setting) and some cant.

The thing that is amazing about wool is it doesnt need to be washed that often - just hung up after use. I only wash mine now and again - but hand wash them. They also need to be something called lanolised now and again. Ill copy some links for you as I am no expert. I was doubtful about using wool before i started with it but find it easy. Its also addictive because its so lovely:

www.thewoolresource.co.uk/ - look at the FAQs and how to. This site also lists a lot of UK makers. I have boughtlovely things from Marchhare, Puddlepants and Seahorseslacks

I think a lot of bamboo nappies would last your little one at night. 2 of mine that are excellent and easily bought are Bamboo Baby Beehinds and Clwt Twts. You need to email the lady who hand makes the Clwt Twts. Website www.clwt-twt.co.uk/ .I bought the Bee Behinds from here:www.bebeco.co.uk/ There are other sites who sell these nappies too

I love the Baby BeeHinds bamboo, got a load in stock a few weeks before DS2 was born and put most of them aside for him, they also do a wool wrap that can be machine washed, however I haven't found hand washing mine a prob and am very lazy [blush}
Have to say I love the hand knitted wolly wrap tupe of wool wrap best though!
