hiya.

despite the name i know bugger all about re-usables... but now that ds1, and v nearly ds2 as well, is in pants (hurrahhhhhhh!!!!!) during the day, and ds1's night nappy is usually dry, i am now wondering if a reusable solution can be found...

i need:
one type of night nappy for the 2.5 and 3.5 yo's... the 2yo wee's a LOT at night, and the 3yo is usually dry. cant be dealing w leaks, so it needs to be v absorbent. never any poos tho (dunno if that makes a diff)

and i guess a comprehensive, v easy to use set of re-usables for ds3 who is about 14m now.

any ideas??

I use Mother of Eden Overnight Undies for ds2 who is 8 and still wets the bed. Have never had a leak with them.

How about a Baby BeeHinds nappy for night for both ds1 and 2 they are available in hemp or bamboo and hav =e two snap in liners so you can make them less bulky for the DS who wees less and are a birth to potty nappy so could use them for all three DSs. As for DS3, how often do you intend to wash, how to you intend to dry do you have to take into consideration others looking after him? Would be happy to give you a run down of all types of nappies and their pros and cons if you want, my email is info @ snugglebumnappies . co . uk (no spaces!).

oooooh... answers!

hello and thanks for answering my snore-worthy plea

think i may be overwhelmed by a rundown of all types (and run away screaming) at least... it seems a bit scary...

in answer to the questions you ask: i guess id wash every couple of days (unless i can find a nappy service, now that sounds like a good idea), if i were washing them here, they would be machine dried, and yes, someone does help me look after him, but its here and she'll do as she's told

am off now to investigate both kinds mentioned (thanks to both of you again)

I would get size 3 totsbots for the bigger ones with xl wraps and size 2 tots for no.3 and put fleece liners in them to keep bum dry.

Ok them Nappies, for DS3 it would well be worth just buying a few different nappies to try out and see what suits you all best. For ease I would try a pocket nappy (these have an outer that is waterproof that is lined for next to your baby's bottom, usually with fleece, one end is open so you can stuff them with absorbant inserts) popular ones are Wonderoos, Fuzzi Bunz and Nature Babies Stuffable.
You could also try an All In One (AIO) nappy such as a Magic all, Swaddlebees AIO or Motherease AIO (these are just as they say, a wrap and absorbant pad all in one, as easy to use as a disposable but sometimes need extra boosting for heavy wetters.
For a night time nappy a hemp or bamboo nappy is ver absorbant, if you decide to buy Baby BeeHinds for the older two these couls also be used on DS3, or you could try a bambineo/wam bamboo size two nppa fastening as this would give you a nappy that should fit all three of you LOs (not at once!! ) and the nippa will mean a snug fit for each different size.
Easy nappies for daytime are Sandy's from Motherease or the Motherease One Size nappy, both are very slim but may require extra boosting if DS3 wees a lot. Or you could go for the good old Tots Bots Original, however they are slightly more bulky for under clothes, or stick to a bamboo such as the bambineo/wambamboo or bamboozle.
Just ne thing to remember is that bamboo is a very absorbant fibre, however, because of this it can take a long time to dry so if you are intending to day on the line/radiators then it may be better to buy a mix of fast drying nappies and bamboo ones to make sure you always have some ready.
