Hi all,

I am about to have my first baby and am in 7th month of my pregnancy. I am wondering if I can travel by road or train at this time? I have a conference coming up this month.

Why wouldn’t you? Confused Unless you have any medical conditions or complications you should be absolutely fine.

I think the only travel that isn’t advised is plane and maybe boat. Car and train will be fine. I’d just make sure you have your notes with you, and if you’re a high risk pregnancy I’d maybe let the conference people know (or someone you’re travelling with know).

I wasn’t high risk but went to a couple of all day conferences in the last few weeks. Told colleagues where my notes were just in case and made sure they had dh’s contact details.

If you can't travel by road how were you planning on getting to the hospital? Or work? Or the shops? Or anywhere that's not your house?

Course you can. You can also travel by plane if you have a fit to fly letter from gp. Though when I flew easyjet at 36 weeks they didn't even notice or didn't care and didn't ask for the letter.

Assuming you don't have any complications you can still do most things while pregnant!

Were you planning to become a recluse for 2 months?! Just carry on as normal for as long as you are comfortable. The only tricky one will be flying after 32 weeks due to insurance.
