Baby won't stop being sick.

DD is 5 months old and she is constantly sick. Doctor said she had reflux at a very young age and lots of other medical issues which have now calmed down. Her reflux did but is awful again now. She's on cow and gate carobel which makes it better than if she wasn't, if that makes sense, however still not great. She is just always sick, 24/7. She eats every 3 hours and will not go any longer but won't eat any more than she is now, and she's sick right from her last bottle to her next and it's always so much. Doctors have said to wean her which I've been doing for 4 weeks and she takes it so well but it's just not helping at all. May sound silly but it's reduced me to tears, I'm just clearing up sick all the time. She doesn't seem unhappy either. She's laughing away then is sick then starts laughing again. Some people have said it's this way until they're just completely on solids. I guess I'm just hoping for a miracle answer on here!

Is she throwing up while feeds or just posseting?

Silvercatowner · 02/10/2017 06:06

Yeah mine did that. It was awful. They stopped doing that when they became confident walkers, I think, when they were upright more than they were sitting/lying down.

Yep ds was like that. Sick after every feed pretty much. It's a miracle that he didn't lose loads of weight! We tried all sorts.

Milk thickened, all different milks, gaviscon. Feeding sitting up. Unfortunately non of it worked.

Unfortunately op for us it only stopped when he was weaning and for a period of time when he was still having formula at night, he would projectile vomit afterwards and it's a whole different kettle of fish when they're eating.

However, now he's eating properly and just drinking cows milk he isn't sick any more thank God!

I don't have any advice other than persevere. And try to prepare for the inevitable. I still have about 30 muslins in my house! It will get better!

Both of mine have been like this. I used to have to take spare clothes for me plus about 10 changes for them. I remember once that ds was so sick on me in a cafe that my bra was soaked through two other layers.
They do grow out of it. With one of mine it was as soon as we started solids. The other it took till almost a year... but they can still vomit at 14 months if they lean forward too much after food.

It's awful. I remember some nights where I'd feed and lay them Down... hear the throwing up. .whip away the spare muslin I'd always have on the bed. They'd be sick eventually so much that it soaked through to the sheet... we'd have to get the whole bed stripped and start again. One night we went through all our sleeping bags.. and we had plenty.
The washing machine is never off. But it will stop one day!

Thanks everyone. She's not sick whilst feeding just afterwards. I did think the only thing would be to persevere Sad guess I was just hoping for a miracle! I have to take so many muslins, bibs, spare clothes for both of us anywhere we go. Honestly can't wait until it's all over! Like you say the washing machine is never off. If it's not her stuff it's our clothes or the bed sheets!
