Sore a consultant yesterday who told me it's normal for my 4yr old to wee uncontrollably every 20 mins a few hours after eating

What in the hell is this consultant talking about? That's ridiculous. Weeing "uncontrollably?"

Would assume your Dr is on drugs...

bedtimestories · 28/09/2017 18:38

No drugs, sweets are a once weekly occurrence and pop is parties only (less than 1 a month)

(I've forgotten how to tag lol) that's what I thought. I don't see puddles on the floor when kids go to parties and have jam sandwiches

I was told by a consultant not to give my child red/black berry drinks, as they contain a histamine which can set off a hyperactive bladder. This is true for my child. Drinking such drinks results in 3/4 visits to the loo in an hour. Maybe it's a similar thing with the jam?

Took my ds to our Dr for a bad cough including coughing fits and actually being sick, passing out occasionally too. Told me to make sure he eats his meals slowly!! Saw a new Dr yesterday who diagnosed him with asthma. . .

It's anything with sugar in jam, cake, sweets, chocolate, fresh orange juice makes him constipated too

He offered (and we accepted) a second opinion

Not normal in any sense, no.
My DS has a histamine intolerance, but his manifests in diarrhoea after eating acidic fruit/veg.

Incontinence in a child who otherwise has full bladder control needs further investigation, it's really not 'normal'.

Perhaps they'll need to avoid certain foods until they either develop tolerance for those, or stronger bladder control.

2nd opinion definitely required!
