Are there "books on tape" for an 8 yo?

I don't mean tape, that's just what they were when I was a child. I'm assuming something like an app? Where someone reads the stories out loud and the child (hopefully) goes to fucking sleep whilst listening? Can anyone recommend something for my 8yo sleep dodging son?

If you look for 'audio CD's' on Amazon there's loads!

There's also audible and many libraries have online borrowing apps that include audio books for free.

You can also download them as files from Audible

Try your local library: you should be able to borrow audio books on CD. If you're really lucky, they'll have a digital library too and you'll be able to download audio-books from home.

Thank you everyone!

I buy them in audible or what used to be Apple Music but now does some jiggery-pokery and puts books in your iBooks library even though they are spoke word...
Anyway we have Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, David Walliams and tonnes more. My 7yr old listens to fall asleep as he find it hard to still his mind!
Also- The Book People always has cheapy collections of authors reading their books etc... Great Value!

Many loca libraries offer audio books as well which you download for free via an app. Worth checking out as Audible etc can be pricey.

I think pretty much all books are available in audio now aren't they?

When my DC were younger we had loads of actual tapes and I'm sure with technology mowing on everything will be much more accessible nowadays

My kids all have a stack of story CDs and a cd player in their rooms, if you're low tech... There are still loads produced on cd, from audio versions of recent films to complete Roald Dahl and famous five collections.
