Bedtime Stories

At what age do you stop reading bedtime stories? My 8 yr old now needs to go to bed a different time as her younger brother just wondering if it's the right time to introduce it?

There's no right or wrong. Do you both enjoy bed time stories? If so, carry on. If she'd prefer to read to herself, then let her.

DD is 8 & a story is an important part of her winding down routine. DB did it my niece & nephews until they were at least 10 but he is brilliant at voices etc so they loved it

For my niece & nephews that should say

Mine are 7 and 10 - I've offered for the older one to have a later bedtime but he still wants a bedtime story (and he's a lark rather than an owl anyway). I love reading more interesting books now, and I hope to still be doing bedtime stories for a good number of years - I shall really miss it when it stops, it's one of my favourite things. On the other hand I stopped having bedtime stories at about seven because I preferred to read to myself, so I think it depends on whether they still want it and whether you still want to do it.

Thanks fir your input. I'm not even going to suggest it then. I'll just work the routine to fit the new bed times
