Sleepyhead for 9 weeks old

Hello
Our daughter is a very light sleeper and suffers from bad reflux (silent reflux has not been diagnosed)
Currently she sleeps in her cot with a pillow underneath her swaddle and bed is propped up as well to help with reflux.
She's outgrown the swaddle now so she basically just laying on top of it covered with blankets which she kicks off.
I tried her in grobag and she hated it - however it was a one time try so willing to give it another go.

I am hearing good things about sleepyhead and want to try her in it to see if it helps.but my worry is that it might be too late for her because of her size ..she is quite long - she was 56 cm 3 weeks ago. She's 9 weeks old.
Iam due to have her weighed/measured this week.

Have any if you successfully managed a transition from/to sleepyhead at this stage?

Any advice and suggestions will be appreciated.

I bought one for ds2 at a similar age, he also has reflux. Its definitely big enough but if she's long then just unclip the end so her feet are free.

They are awesome!!!

Is there a John Lewis in your area? The one I visited had one on display, so you could pop baby in it to try it out. Ours is a long baby and sleeps in it with the ends unclipped. I do wonder if he is getting a bit squashed around the shoulders though.

@MenorcaSunrise that's exactly my worry, width!
Although she's long and slim baby it may be too narrow for her... but iam thinking if I do go for it perhaps I should go for the grand version 9-36 months... then again is that too big for her??
I just don't want to fork out lots of money for something that may not work ..
I genuinely dread bedtime at the moment! oh these babies why can't they just tell us what's wrong right hahaaa

Can you not swaddle with a normal blanket? This is what we do for DS at 11 weeks- large, long baby

fitbitbore · 10/09/2017 14:33

Look on eBay for they are cheaper and you can resell for near what you paid.

I got the grand for my ds at 12 weeks he is very tall. He was in it until 6 months but could of lasted longer (until 7-8 month I'd guess) only took him out of it because he was fine when we went away without it so didn't use it when we came home.

It was a life saver for us and ds reflux, which turned out to be milk allergy.

If the swaddle is working, what about swaddling with a giant muslin? You can pick them up cheap in TK Maxx.

Re: the sleepyhead. Everyone I know who has one is empathetic that they are worth the money.

We got one for ds when he was 5 weeks it was expensive but worth every penny (he slept for 6 hours straight the first night we put him into it. He is very long and big for his age and it still lasted until nearly 7 months. Only problems was trying to wean him off it.

Elcybeecee · 10/09/2017 22:39

Forgot to mention we had the smaller version and it lasted that long. We just unclipped the end.

My DS is 6mo, off the charts for height, 75th centile for weight, and still just about fits in his. They are amazing - go for it!
