Newborn wet back?

Hiya
My son is two weeks old and a few times this week after he's been for a long sleep when he's woken he's a had a soaking wet back ?
He's feeding normal , wetting and dirtying nappies and I checked his temp which was also fine?
I don't think it's pee because when that thought popped into my head the next time he had a wet back I checked and his nappy was dry?

Should I be worried , ?

He could be weeing upwards and it runs around his tummy to his back. You need to tuck him downwards when you change him.

It sounds like he's sweating in his sleep. I know the advice is to put 50,000 layers on newborns because they feel the cold but my daughter was (and still is) a little hot water bottle baby who really didn't need all those layers on her.

I'll keep an eye when I'm changing him

And I will definitely keep layers to a minimum he seems perfectly content I just worry I'm doing something wrong lol

Thanks for the tips x

If it's soaking and only his back, not his hairline etc., it's almost definitely pee. Mine used to do this, yet keep a dry nappy! Point his willy downwards before doing up the nappy.

This happened my sil - pee - point willy down when doing up the nappy. Enjoy your little man
