13mo not eating much

She used to be great at eating although she has always been very particular in that sometimes she will refuse finger food and sometimes she will refuse spoon food. Since about 11mo she refused to eat sitting down. She's always hated being confined - screamed in the car since birth, refused to sit on people's laps, arches her back in the buggy etc. At 11mo she basically stopped eating and then one day ate in the buggy and on the floor.

Now very little works. Today she has had....5 mini shredded wheats, a slice of bread and butter, a slice of ham, 3 ikea meatballs and half an apple.

She refused her nap because she was so hungry. She has screamed most of the day because she's so hungry. I tried bonjella in case of teething to no avail. Everything else I offered her got launched. She even launched tomatoes (her favourite).

She will wake up in the night and demand milk now because she's so hungry. She was night weaned a while ago but she is so hungry she now needs it. We tried without and she just stays up all night screaming. I have offered her everything i could think of today but it's all been refused. I've just started a new job so I really can't afford to be up all night and DH has a really manual job so needs his sleep. She's obviously hungry but is sooooo stubborn. Ideas? Anyone?

My 13 month is the same. Sometimes he will eat nicely other times he will through his food around the room in a tantrum. I actually started to use teething powder and ambesol and this started to stop the tantrums at feeding times and he eats nicely. It's hard because you can't always feel the teeth coming through or they don't show for ages. Also he had decided he wants to hold the spoon so I give him a spoon to hold and I'll feed him with another spoon (just so I know he is actually eating). It's a never ending check list of what could possibly be wrong. Try the teething stuff though, bonjela never did anything for my son but ambesol and teething powder works like a dream!

Will she eat a carpet picnic? Put a rug in the floor with a variety of finger foods?

I have some teething powder so will definitely that a try today. I remember DD1 doing similar at this age but DD2 is much stronger willed. DD1 at least would still eat her favourites but DD2 is not interested in very much at all.

She has mainly been having carpet picnics but even then isn't eating much. It's good to know that I'm not alone and will give everything a go.

I gave in and let mine have milk.

Teething is a bitch.

Now at 18 months I let her drink milk instead of eating if she wants (usually when a tooth is giving her grief). When I'm not well I live on tea so can't see why I should force her to eat if she hurts.

Will she drink milk during the day instead? Worth offering if she won't eat much. Does sound like it's maybe teeth or a cold brewing
