My 12 week old DD has started teething, health visitor have advised that even though it's early she may not get teeth for so time they are rooting in at the moment

She's cranky sore and tired. She's not taking a full bottle and she's not getting a decent sleep.

I have tried calpol and bonjela, the bonjela doesn't seem to be helping and the calpol only takes the edge of for the first couple of hours and wears off long before the next dosage can be administered

Please give me your teething remedies am at a loss with what to do for this poor soul

Anbesol liquid. Nurofen is also better than calpol.

I'm not a fan of medicating for teething as it takes weeks or months for each tooth to grow and come through and babies spend pretty much their first two years teething! But obviously if the baby is in pain you should give them something, but not for any great period of time.

During the day the best tactic is distraction - try to play lots with baby and keep her occupied. I appreciate this is easier said than done though and that it's easier with a 6 month old rather than a 12 week old.

Also try and get lots of good naps in during the day - get out in the fresh air so they can sleep in the pram or a sling.

Teething powders (Nelsons or Ashtons I think), anbesol and distraction during the day.

Calpol and/or nurofen before bed but only if we could see one was about to cut. Nurofen can only be given for one day at that age so we always started with calpol. You can piggy back them so calpol then 2 hours later nurofen then 2 hours later calpol and so on...

DS started 'teething' at 8 weeks but that was nothing compared to how bad it got at 14 weeks. By 16 weeks he had 2 teeth!
