I am a complete novice at this!

I would like to wach my nappies more often, but don't want to put them in a full-load cycle, and dont have enough washing to fill up the machine every day or so.

So can I put my nappies in the half-load cycle, which washes at 50 degrees? or do they have to be washed at 60 degrees?

I used to wash mine at 40 and then every so often wash them on a higher temp.

its 60degrees that you need to ill the germs

i know lots of people who wash them at 40 with a 60C every so often.

washing at 50 is fine as long as you do it at 60 sometimes to take the bugs away

Washing them at any temp below 60 degrees is fine. Bamboo and the PUL on some pocket or AIO nappies will not withstand a temp above 60 degrees.

I think WEN say you can separate your nappies into wee'd on nappies and pooed on nappies and wash the wee'd on ones with your regular washing at a low temp (mind you you wouldn't be able to use fabric conditioner - which would put me off a bit).
Presumably this would leave the pooed on ones for a higher temp.
Personally, I would go with NannyL and wash pooed on nappies at 60 degrees because of the e-coli and suchlike that is found in human faeces. I read somewhere that as long as the laundry is kept at 60 degrees for ten minutes that most of the bacteria is killed.
QUite possibly it depends on your LO's, some have more sensitive skin and are more prone to nappy rash and suchlike. If the skin is broken I would say a higher temperature would be better, to reduce infection.
I found a few websites which advised about washing temps etc... I think 60 degrees was the magic temperature to kill a high percentage of bacteria.
I'm off to find some.
Sorry I've probably totally confused you.

I wash our Bumgenuis Pocket One Size nappies, basic terrys (used as cloths and bibs notas nappies) and Bright Bot trainer pants on 40c and they always come clean.

But they are only wet, we don't have poo nappies as my daughter is EC'd.

I also think 60°C is neccessary. I used to do a nappy wash every three days.
