From Grobag to duvet cover?

My dd is 22 months and still sleeps in a Grobag.
When is a good time to change to a duvet cover and pillow?

Thanks

We changed my DS when we took the side off the cot. Which in his case was around 22 months. He mostly slept on top of it or three it on floor to start but it was summer so not such a big deal. He's started now (26 months) picking it up and getting under it so they do figure it out

Ds was 2 and a half when he moved to a big bed with a duvet

We also changed with the move to a cot bed. Basically, if she was free to get up and move around the room, I didn't want her tripping and falling over trying to walk in a grobag, which seemed dangerous. We did both at 17 months.

We did it when DS1 went from cot to bed. So, around 2.8. He got the hang of it eventually but didn't seem bothered by sleeping uncovered in the interim!

It took DD a while to stop kicking the duvet off... she was a terrible one for kicking & wriggling in her sleep, this was part of the reason why we'd gone for a Grobag, TBH. We just used to go into her room whenever we went up, when we went to bed, & if we woke at night for any reason, & we'd check she was covered adequately. Sometimes at 5yo, she still kicks it off, lays on it, turns around in bed, etc etc. They do get better at it!

As above, when they move from a cot is easiest for the duvet. If you are moving/converting to a toddler bed it's worth using a single duvet fitted sideways and tucked under the mattress on both sides. It helps prevent the rolling out of bed and kicking off covers, plus means you don't need to buy another duvet plus covers when they upgrade to a single.
I'm wanting to make the transition with DD2 now, but am holding out for the weather to turn a little cooler as none of the rest of us are under a duvet at the moment. Mid September should be about right for us I reckon, which will make her 15mo (DD1 was 16mo) Smile

I introduced a toddler pillow at 12mo for both my DCs whilst still in a cot. DD1 had been scrunching a cuddle toy up as a makeshift pillow for around a month by then so we switched her as soon as the guidelines said it was ok, and as it worked nicely we've done the same for DD2. DD1 sized up to a (thin) full-sized pillow when she moved to a single bed at a little over 2yo.

My DS is nearly 18 months and we moved him to a duvet and pillow about a month ago, mainly because he kept pulling his sleeping bags off. He hasn't worked the duvet out yet at all. He sleeps on top of it usually and only occasionally near the pillow, he's all over the cot. I've been putting him in long sleeved pyjamas on colder nights and go in and cover him up before we go to bed. I hope he gets it before it gets too cold in the winter!
