Nappy leaks at night

I have an 11 month old DD who keeps waking up wet in the night. She's 10kg and in size 4, we use pampers active fit but have also tried baby dry 4+ with the same result.

The leak is always up the back, and although she does tend to feed a lot at night I don't think it's just because the nappy is getting full. I've had nights where she's woken up for a feed and the nappy has felt empty, then she's done a wee and it's leaked, although the nappy doesn't feel anywhere near full when I change her.

She tends to sleep on her side, but also at times puts her legs up on top of mine (we cosleep). I wondered whether she's channeling it down the back by lifting her legs up!

Has anyone experienced similar and found a solution?

have you tried size 5s? The weight guides on nappies are a bit useless I think.

Are you securing the nappy tightly enough?

You could try putting nappy on backwards as most of the absorbancy is towards the front so that might fix the issue with wee running up the small of her back?

Also are you sure it is wee and not sweat? Sorry, just thought I better ask....

I haven't tried size 5, could give it a go but we've had this problem on and off since she was right at the bottom of the size 4 range so I suspect it won't make much difference.

Nappy is on tightly, and it's definitely wee.

Hadn't thought about trying it back to front though, thanks!

I've got boys so wee trajectory might be different but have you tried another brand? People seem wedded to pampers but they have leaked every time I've used them. We've had no problems with Aldi or Tesco nappies (the purple ones from Tesco, the green brought DS out in a rash). I use Aldi mainly because they are cheaper and even when the nappy is really full they never leak.

I would actually try a 5+ for overnight

Ah also a good point magpie. We use different brand at night to during the day so you could try a few different brands (see if you can nab from a mate with similar age kid to save you buying lots of different packets)

We've always used bigger nappies at night. And often a different brand - Pampers sleep dry at night and pretty much anything during the day. Although we like the Lidle ones and the Active Fit pampers.

I also second the idea of trying a different brand - babies are different and what works for one might not work for another. I recently bought the Sainsbury's ones and they have sort of an elasticised back (it's stretchy) which might work for you as it can be put snugly at the back without making it too tight on the sides.

I've got some Aldi nappies to try, those Sainsbury's ones sound like they might be good too. Fingers crossed another brand helps.
