Let them eat rocks!?!?

DD2 is 8mo, hypermobile (speed crawling and cruising) and in the phase of sticking anything and everything in her mouth. DD1 is at home for the nursery holidays at the mo so we're spending lots of time out in the fresh air. But it's a complete nightmare with the baby! She won't sit in the buggy and is wriggly if carried around. But if I put her down on a blanket outside she's off in a second and jamming rocks, soil, grass, sand, you name it in her mouth. What am I supposed to do! I can't stay inside all day! I left her to it for a few minutes today (whilst watching her) thinking a bit of grass wouldn't do her any harm but then she started wretching on a dry leaf that I had to pull out her throat!

I don't remember this phase being so terrible with DD1, but maybe I got off lightly as it was winter!?

I figure sand and the odd rock will just work it's way out.

I went through this last year with ds2 who was also 8 months and extremely mobile. We spent a lot of time in the local garden centre which has a massive sand pit. Not sure exactly how much sand he ate, but it was a lot Confused he wasn't so interested in rocks thankfully, but also ate a lot of dirt. Didn't do him any harm.

Still going through this with DD2 who has recently turned 1!

We recently bought two bunnies and some of the hay (?) gets pushed out along with some rabbit food and poo and she makes a beeline for the poo! Every time we go outside! She sees it before I do! I think she thinks they are raisins...

If I move her away then she's onto the leaves and petals.. oh, and a bit of bird poo once!

When does it end!

I remember my cousin often crunching on snails in the garden when he was a baby.

He's currently doing a physics PhD, maybe that's his secret!
