DS birthday coming up and was discussing with another mum the best toy you have ever had. Whilst in agreement that most toys live their life in a toy box. Mine is the ELC toy kitchen best, worst The golden coin maker !

Ours is a mattress in their bedroom on the floor which they use as a trampoline or a tent or a den. they crash against it and hide under it and play prehistoric park on it and adore it!!

Leapad they dont like
Radio controlled flaming £25 dino and dragon they dont like

Best is a toy shop that we made ourselves - £30 on a big piece of MDF and probably £5 on paints etc. Has a window and a door and hinged sides so that we could put it away - made it for his 2nd birthday and put it away for the first time just before xmas (2 years later) so we could fit the xmas tree in! It got used EVERY day (had a toy cooker, plastic food, plates etc inside it). Will be coming out again in about 6mo for ds2 and fully expect it to stay out for another 2 years.

Worst - his toy castle that he had for his 4th birthday, we saw on offer two months before and brought it, it sat in the spare room for two months and he stroked it lovingly every day. After his birthday he played with it alot for about, umm 2 weeks, and now it sits unused on his bedroom floor.

least - a Bumbo

best - a book, any book

a plastic sandpit that cost about £20 and 8 years later was still going strong providing hours and hours of play pretty much every day throughout the summer!

KTeePee · 30/03/2007 22:07

Best - plastic tea set from Boots, used my Boots points to get it so cost nothing - still going strong 8 yrs later

Worst - most things bought for ds1 who doesn't really play with toys.....

LilyLoo · 31/03/2007 09:34

Kteepee glad to hear that same as my ds! Agree with castle and dinosaur we have both of them hardly ever used.

The best, diecast cars and trains, a washing tablet box and a beanie toy that we found down the back of a radiator when we moved in.

The worst has to be the leappad and a little tikes trike.

fannyannie · 31/03/2007 09:41

DS2 adores his leappad and also the little cars - ranging from old Corgi ones from the 1950's and 60's up to cheapy plastic ones from the £1 shop.

Worst - not sure.

AnAngelWithin · 31/03/2007 09:42
