Never done this before....what is normal etiquette? Morning? Afternoon? 1030am till 1230pm or 2pm till 4pm? Never been invited to one either so no idea what I'm doing tbh!

2pm to 4pm.

Games
Party tea
Cake.

What are you planning?

At that age you need to keep it really simple. Grandparents, cake and candles and bit of singing and dancing to nursery rhymes.

I remember my daughter getting very upset when we took the paper off her present, she just wanted it back on and we couldn't do it they way she wanted Confused Grin

DeanKoontz · 09/08/2017 23:52

Oh, and plan it for when they are least likely to nap.

The ones we've just been to have been 10-12 roughly. Some just an hour, all morning before nap time.

They had toys (or were at a play centre/park), party food and a cake.

wendz86 · 10/08/2017 06:41

I'd say morning as a lot of kids nap still at that age .

Fuzzyduck21 · 10/08/2017 06:46

We are just going to hire soft play, bouncy castle and have a bit of a buffet. Guess I could ask opinions as nothing is booked yet 🙂

Either morning or late afternoon. Early afternoon might be naptime for many small guests.

MrsGB2225 · 10/08/2017 06:57

Morning because most children would be napping at that age in the afternoon.
Even if it starts at 2, they would have to wake them up at 1.30 to get ready and head to the party.

yelpforhelp · 10/08/2017 07:07

20-12 or 3-5. Mine still nap 1-230ish.
But personally I always prefer morning.

Lemondrop99 · 10/08/2017 15:33

If you go afternoon, what about 3-5? If you're feeding them, parents won't need to worry about time for dinner when they get them home (just how to calm down sugar fuelled toddlers before bed Wink).

BellyBean · 13/08/2017 09:00

Def 10-12 not afternoon. Nothing like having to keep excited toddler under control all day for said party/worry too hyper for bed/wake early from nap etc.

cornishgirl17 · 13/08/2017 14:45

Best times would be different for all children and their parents. My DD naps in the morning, so I'd say afternoon would be best!

badg3r · 13/08/2017 14:52

Avoid the few hours after lunch. DS and about 80% of the kids at his nursery nap some time between 12.30 and 2.30.

Iwantawhippet · 13/08/2017 15:04

10-12. Afternoons are nap time.
