1 year old won't eat

I posted this when she was about eight months and nothing has changed. She will usually eat a decent breakfast but the rest of the day she barely eats.

I've tried everything and nothing tempts her. Had her weighed today and she's still on same centile so she must be getting the calories from her milk but I'm worried about her nutrition . I add multi vits to her milk but I'm very concerned she won't eat when everyone tells me how much their little ones eat in a day.

Any words of wisdom or similar stories of babies mmmm toddlers who got better with age?!

What's her percentile? She must be eating enough to remain on the same percentile line. The best thing is not to obsess about calorie intake and to offer all you foods you'd normally eat.

I remember this well! My DD didn't even have breakfast! I share your frustration and concern. My DD got to 18 months without eating much more than a bit of pasta, half a tiny yoghurt, and one slice of banana and rarely every day. I tried everything. My health visitor even discussed DD at a conference!

The only thing that possibly changed was DD in that she wanted to be like other children. In sheer frustration, she went to nursery 3 mornings a week from 18 months, and stayed for lunch. She sat down with other children at a table and gradually did what they did - ate food. Her eating was monitored by a lovely Nursery Nurse. Slow at first but at 20 months she asked for more Christmas lunch at home. Just said "more"! Never looked back and it was a massive breakthrough.

So, just persevere if you cannot afford a nursery. If you can, try it. I realised that she was a stubborn child! She ate when she was ready and yes, it turns you inside out! Good luck.

My DD was also 50th. She never put on much weight and some people are slim and petite. Not all babies are above 50th or it wouldn't be the 50th.

I would try not to worry, I know it's easier said than done. My son was exactly the same, very little interest in anything but milk for a long long time. Even at the age of 2 he would still have weeks where he had nothing but milk, and bits of toast or fruit. He is 4 now, still fussy but hardly drinks milk any more and is bang on the weight he should be.
