I know you shouldn't wake a sleeping baby BUT...

My 6 month old ds has been asleep since 5.45. I thought it would be a quick nap then get him up, play for a bit before the bedtime routine at 7 30.

His last bottle was at 3.30 and he had some food (strawberry, tomato, chicken) at 4.30.

He is proper zonko but I'm panicking that hes missed his last bottle which sees him through until 7am.

Would you

A. Wake him now and give him a bottle then put him back down for the night

B. Leave him then if he wakes in the middle of the night so be it?

He's been in such a good routine since 3 months so this is really unusual for him. I'm assuming it's the food thats done it.

Any advice gratefully received!

I'd wake them but then I didn't really go by the never wake a sleeping baby thing

I would wake him to give him the bottle. I used to do this with dd to try get her through a bit longer

I'd attempt a dream feed about 9 or 10. Pick him up and get the bottle in his mouth quickly in the hope he doesn't properly wake up. If he fully wakes up I suspect it will be play time for a while!!

I'd also be starting the negotiations with Dp over who will be up playing with him at 3am Smile

I'd leave them and feed them when they woke up.

Another for dream feeding it saved my bacon when ds1 did this and gave me a much needed rest

I'd leave them and feed them when they do wake up. I would never wake a sleeping baby, and I didn't dream feed as I find it pointless. If a baby is hungry they will wake for a feed.

I would wake them. I wouldnt wake a newborn but by 6 months mine were both sleeping around 8-10 hours a night so it would bugger up their routine

Dream feed!

elmo1980 · 02/08/2017 21:53

Ok I've just done my first dream feed! It was very cute and he was obviously very hungry as he guzzled the lot so feeling a bit guilty for leaving him so long.

He is however now wide awake and smiling at me and gurgling so going to put his music on and leave him to settle. Fingers crossed he will go back down again.

Thanks all for your suggestions.
