DD is 15 months and is starting the wonderfull terrible twos! She can have a full blown tantrum if she does'nt get her way. All i am doing is ignoring the full floop to the floor and kicking and screaming is there any other way i can deal with this. Also she will hit her younger sister and thin its funny, when i try and tell her no its bold she thinks thats fun too.
Any advice on the terrible twos..?

youre doing it right...carry on ignoring her meaning blank her out and if my dd hits her sister..i just give her one warning ONLY and if she does it again...its bed!! you must carry it out or otherwise if u dont she will get away with it everytime. She is old enough now to understand about the warning!! ALERT!!!!

hee hee - ive got a 30m old dd and i do it on her.

shes only 15 months though so im thinking not truly understanding.my ds same age and when he decides to head bang we put bean bag on floor and put him on that so he can continue his headbanging but in safety!i think at this age distraction is easiest.

,after having first 2 children i thought id never have any more as terrible 2's was truly terrible!but whoops i forgot!!

BigCremeEggs · 27/03/2007 14:52

well ive carried them out since my dd was 12 months old...till she started to understand the pattern of the words = "If you do it once more, then youre going to bed!" trust me it will work even if the little girl is only 15 mths old. it wont work at the first time...but it will work quite quick

BigCremeEggs · 27/03/2007 14:54

well its one way or the other as my dd didnt and still dont bang her head as i find it easier to put her to bed OR put in the playpen if you have one and leave her there till she calmed down

DS also 15 months old and has a 5 week old brother who he likes to lick and squeeze and occasionally treat like a drum! Tantrums tend to happen more when he is over tired and like you i just ignore most of the time and distraction IMO is definitely a good tool.

Having made the lounge child friendly to enable a stress free sort of day for me with the demands of a newborn to top I find that i am constantly telling him to get off the window sill..he thinks its funny and does it more...cannot move window sill..have no idea what to do...NO makes no difference...is just funny to him.

kittypants · 27/03/2007 19:39

chacha-lol at moving windowsill!

MINNIE1 · 28/03/2007 09:45

Cha Cha understand about the NO. DD Laughs at me when i say it aswell. Daddy tends to pick her up and i go off the head so he now leaves her. When do they move out!! lol
